FRACKING APPLICATION: Please don’t think that because you’ve already objected (or supported) the planning application by Europa Gas & Oil Ltd to construct a wellsite off Coastal Road in Burniston that you don’t need to do anything again! You do!
As well as having to get planning consent, Europa also has to get an environmental permit from the Environment Agency.
The Environment Agency has opened a public consultation that closes on 19 September. A hard copy of the consultation documents is available for the public to view at Newby & Scalby Library (closed on Thursdays).
There’s to be a “mining waste storage facility” on Scalby Road opposite the Rugby Club.
You can submit your views online – the documents are here.
Before submitting your comments, please look at the list of things the Agency can & cannot take into maccount – this will help you to ensure your views are relevant to them.
